The clinic launch checklist

Before you launch.
Get the essentials aligned.

Use this practical checklist to organize your business, patient journey, and operating responsibilities before adding an insurance-based care program.

Discuss your next step
01

Define the first launch

Choose the services and markets you need initially. Keep future expansion separate from the starting scope.

02

Assign an owner

Give each implementation task a named decision-maker and a clear next step.

03

Confirm readiness

Review the clinical, patient, and billing workflow together before directing patients into the program.

THE FIELD NOTES / 01

1. Your business and program

Begin with a concise description of what you are building and how it will operate. The goal is to give every participating team the same starting point.

  • Legal entity, primary contact, and authorized decision-maker identified
  • Target audience, services, and initial states documented
  • Brand, website, and patient acquisition approach reviewed
  • Program fees, responsibilities, and agreements understood
THE FIELD NOTES / 02

2. Your patient journey

Walk through the experience from the first website visit to follow-through after care. Every transition should have an appropriate destination and responsible team.

  • Patient-facing service and availability statements reviewed
  • Intake and scheduling route configured
  • Eligibility and patient communication process defined
  • Administrative support and clinical question routing established
THE FIELD NOTES / 03

3. Your operating pathway

Configuration alone does not establish readiness. Confirm that the agreed people, workflows, and billing arrangements are in place, and clearly mark anything still pending.

  • Participating clinical group and providers confirmed
  • Initial service, state, and payer product scope documented
  • Clinical documentation and claim submission workflow prepared
  • Reporting access, reconciliation, and team training addressed
THE QUESTIONS THAT MATTER

A little more
clarity.

Does completing this checklist guarantee approval?

No. It is a planning aid. Actual activation depends on the agreed program and applicable clinical, payer, technical, and regulatory requirements.

What should we bring to a partnership review?

Your business overview, website if available, target services and states, existing systems, and the checklist items you have already completed.

Should we share patient records to get started?

No. The initial business review does not require patient records or insurance member information. Use only designated secure channels if patient information is later required.
